The Central Services Manager is the first-line manager responsible for operations management, including; hiring, training, staff advancement and development, coaching and performance management for the Perioperative-Central Services specialty. This individual promotes excellence based on department specific and organizational goals with a commitment to the mission and philosophy. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24-hour clinical management accountability for assigned areas including developing processes and policies and implementing patient safety standards. The Central Services Manager creates a professional environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care and collaborates with all other Mayo services to enhance care. The Central Sterile Processing Manager supports leadership through activities that includes community involvement and participation in committees, work projects and research. Assures departmental standards of operation and policies are in compliance with regulatory and professional agencies, including but not limited to The Center for Medicare Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC), APIC, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Center for Disease Control (CDC), Federal Drug Administration (FDA), and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) provides the basis for care.
Baccalaureate degree in Business, Manufacturing, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Health Sciences; OR five (5) years of experience in an acute or ambulatory care sterile processing department and two(2) years of supervisory experience. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Demonstrated leadership skills, knowledge of accreditation and licensure standards. Highly motivated, flexible, innovative and creative self-directed individual. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and accomplish goals.
License or certification
Current Sterile Processing Technician certification (CSPDT or CRCST) from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
