Position description
Works independently, both on Mayo Clinic campus and as a consultant outside Mayo Clinic. Uses scientific methods to provide technical support. Continually evaluates diagnostic imaging equipment and exam protocols. Assists with technical aspects of imaging. Optimizes diagnostic images

while maintaining patient radiation exposures that are as low as reasonably achievable. Responsible for assisting in developing, maintaining and improving service to department customers twenty-four hours a day. Strives toward gaining self and departmental improvement continuously. Effectively works through and creates change.
EDUCATION: Current ARRT registration in Radiography required. Current Florida Licensure R.T. required. A CNMT certification or equivalent may be accepted in lieu of ARRT registry upon approval. EXPERIENCE : Three year's experience as Radiologic Technologist. Note: The degree of experience and expertise for the job is determined by the amount of expertise in the unit/department. In some circumstances, it may be acceptable to hire a new graduate or a person without experience if there is not adequate experience and expertise in the unit/department.
Additional qualifications
Will support mainly MRI related physics tasks, MRI experience is preferred.

Must be able to work independently, and as a team, to recognize and correct imaging issues. Good observational and interpersonal skills required. Ability to handle multiple functions simultaneously required. Must have exceptional technical aptitude: be able to analyze data and draw appropriate conclusions. Previous experience with a personal computer is helpful. ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Must be able to tolerate frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, and crawling. Must be able to lift 10 to 100 pounds. Must be able to reach above shoulder level and endure occasional twisting and turning. Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing. Must be able to hear at ordinary conversation level, and possess good visual acuity.
License or certification
Current ARRT registration in Radiography required. Current Florida Licensure R.T. required. A CNMT certification or equivalent may be accepted in lieu of ARRT registry upon approval.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $28.51 per hour.
