The Medical Oncology practice has a .8 FTE position available. The Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) hired into this position will be an integral role across our adult Medical Oncology practice, seeing patients with early and advanced solid malignancies requiring acute care for a wide-range of needs. These needs primarily include symptom management, oncologic emergencies and treatment-related complications. It is an ideal role for a NP or PA to work autonomously, with collaborative support as needed. There will also be a limited role working in cross-coverage to assist in providing tumor-specific care. This would be in the setting of working with a care team of providers with tumor-specific expertise. Individuals would assist in providing care to established patients through routine surveillance or on active treatment. This will be a busy and dynamic practice requiring individuals with excellent communication, time management, flexibility, and critical thinking skillsets. This will require individuals to demonstrate adaptability, leadership skills and a keen interest in quality improvement. The NP or PA serving in this role will see all solid tumor types in collaboration with respective tumor-specific Oncology consultants, NP or PAs, fellows, RNs, and other supportive allied health staff.
Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date); or
