Caring for 33,000 patients per year, the Mankato Hospital Emergency Department is Mayo Clinic’s SW MN regional hub site and is a level 3 trauma center. The Mankato site is the main training/orientation site for Mayo Clinic’s EM NPs PAs within the region. NPs PAs provides 24/7 practice coverage alongside their physician colleagues. The NP PA serves as an independent provider, collaborates with physicians and works with a variety of other healthcare professionals. The NP PA will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, and patient education. The NP PA will also perform a variety of procedures including laceration repair, I&D, and lumbar puncture, etc. Our practice is unique in that we start with an onboarding process that assesses your skillset in order to provide the proper training that’s tailored specifically to you. Mayo Clinic values the skills and expertise of the NP PA in Emergency Medicine and our goal is for you able to practice safely and confidently as a solely provider in one of our critical access hospitals. An NP PA Emergency Medicine Fellowship was started in 2014 to develop further support and train NPs PAs in Emergency Medicine. These NP PA fellows rotate thought this site as part of the practice. We look forward to adding a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to our Emergency Department team practice.
Join a positive, patient-focused environment where you and the physicians become partners and mutual advisors. With supervision and management by both physicians and other NPs and PAs, you’re supported by people who understand your professional needs and goals!
