The Department of Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic Health System in Menomonie is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our practice. The current practice includes 5 physicians and 1 nurse practitioner.
The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant:
-provides competent medical care to adult Internal Medicine patients within scope of practice.
-exercises autonomy in medical decision making.
-provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for chronic care, preventative/wellness care, and acute episodic care.
Through a collegial and collaborative team approach, the Nurse Practitioner or Physical Assistant functions as an interdisciplinary team member in the delivery of high quality and cost effective care.
For Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program.
For Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from a Nurse Practitioner program or graduate of DNP program.
-ability to read and communicate effectively in English
-basic computer knowledge
-Two years of practice experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is highly desired
License or certification
For Physician Assistant: Current Wisconsin Physician Assistant License. BLS is required. Prescriptive Authority in the State of Wisconsin (WI Board of Medical Examiners and DEA).
For Nurse Practitioner: Active Wisconsin R.N. license or eligibility to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin. National certification (i.e. ANCC or AANP) as a Nurse Practitioner. Wisconsin state APNP certification and DEA. BLS is required.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
Full-time, Monday through Friday clinic schedule.
Menomonie, a city of 16,000, has everything from lakes, rivers, bike trails, nature trails, and nature preserves to modern shopping with everything you might need. There are an abundance of things to do in Menomonie from seeing a play, enjoying a live band, hiking at Hoffman Hills state park, biking, or just relaxing. The community offers excellent schools, low crime and affordable housing. The city is located 50 miles east of Minneapolis/St. Paul and 30 minutes west of Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.
