Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Vascular Surgery

Position description
The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work as part of a multidisciplinary team managing hospitalized patients that have undergone surgical and/or endovascular interventions. This is a dynamic surgical and endovascular practice renowned for excellence, innovation and performing cutting-edge procedures. The vascular practice includes 6 surgeons and 6 NP/PAs in the hospital practice. The NP or PA will provide comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosis, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies. The NP/PAs will also have the opportunity to participate actively in the Division's educational conferences to stay abreast of this rapidly changing specialty. We are very willing to train new graduates. After orientation and acclimation to the Vascular Surgery practice, the schedule will include days, extended days and weekends. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Masters degree in Nursing from a Nurse Practitioner program or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Requires a current Minnesota RN license (or license deemed acceptable by the MN Board of Nursing) and certification (or eligible) as a Nurse Practitioner by an agency approved by the Minnesota State of Nursing. Or meets the requirements for certification/re-certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Must posses a current registration with the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota (or be eligible for certification). Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
Additional qualifications
A Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills are required and must have demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approximately $4,134.40, based on a full-time position.

Schedule details
12-hour day shifts 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.. No nights. Holiday coverage and weekend rotation coverage is expected. Weekend coverage is Friday and Saturday.

Expected to work one in four weekends/weekend coverage is Friday and Saturday.
