Position description
The Divisions of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, and Breast, Endocrine, Metabolic, and GI surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work as part of a collaborative team of consultants, fellows, residents, nursing, and other staff to provide 24/7 coverage managing the inpatient care of adult general surgical patients throughout their stay. The NP or PA provides comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosis, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies. A high level of autonomy is expected. At this time, the individual will not assist in the operating room. This position is .8 FTE.
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice. The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration.

Additional qualifications
Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges. Strong written and oral communication skills are required and must have demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approximately $4,162.40, based on a full-time position.

Schedule details
This position is .8 FTE / 64 hours position, 12 hour shifts, day/night rotations including weekends, no call.

Five or six 12 hour shifts in a two week pay period. 1 in 4 to 6 weekends and the same for the week of nights, depending on absences, trip time, PTO, etc. 2 holidays per year;

Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for days. Week of nights is Monday - Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
