The nurse technician performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The designated tasks are those which have been taught in the academic programs and/or orientation, and where the individual has demonstrated competence to a designated RN. The functions are those limited by law to unlicensed personnel.
Successful completion of junior year of baccalaureate nursing program or successful completion of 3 semesters of associate nursing program. Successful experience in clinical areas as to perform the functions which are within this job description. Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS).
Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting and deal with stress caused by the care of patients.

License or certification
Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers - BCLS – certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date.
A scanned copy of the certificate of completion, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.

- American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider)
- Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers)

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The pay rate is $18.02 per hour.
Hours / Pay period
64-80 during summer; Late August will transition to 0.2-0.5 FTE during school year or supplemental status with minimal commitment of 48 hours per 3 months (16 hours per month average).
Sunday – Saturday; Day/Evening, 8-hour shifts – NOT NEGOTIABLE
0.8-1.0 FTE during summer; Late August will transition to 0.2-0.5 FTE during school year or supplemental status with minimal commitment of 48 hours per 3 months (16 hours per month average).
Every other weekend – NOT NEGOTIABLE
