Nursing Station Tech (NST) - Med/Surg/Peds - Rotating

Position description
The Nursing Station Tech position is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties at the station, and maintaining patient care areas.
18 years old and completion of 12 college credits OR High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
Additional qualifications
Preferred: 1-2 years experience working in a health care setting as a HUC, NA or NST or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
Preferred: Successful completion of a health unit coordinator program
May be required to work overtime.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.

Nursing observation and data collection skills, critical thinking, documentation, and technical skills related to assigned patient populations.

Basic problem-solving and prioritization skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of chart assembly and filing
Knowledge of developmental stages and age appropriate outcomes and interventions.
Knowledge and ability to accept cultural differences and appropriate outcomes and interventions.
Knowledge of emergency and other relevant policies and procedures.
Use of proper body mechanics.
Infection control principles and practices.
Knowledge and ability to use effective communication strategies, interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service skills
License or certification
Certification: BLS Certification is required within 30 days of hire.

HUC Certification preferred.
Exemption status
Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $16.92 per hour.
