Position description
Performs a comprehensive ophthalmic assessment on ocular patients. Performs diagnostic tests as indicated or as requested by the ophthalmologist. Functions autonomously as part of an integrated team of ophthalmic support services. Performs patient education in regard to treatment of ocular conditions as well as preventative care.
Qualifications
High school education or GED. Two years experience as an ophthalmic assistant.
Additional qualifications
Must have technical and diagnostic skills to perform a comprehensive ophthalmic assessment along with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Must have effective keyboarding skills.
License or certification
Current, active COA, COT, or COMT certification is required upon hire, be current for 90 days following start date, and maintained for duration of employment.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.22 per hour.
