Position description
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a fellowship trained adult reconstructive hip and knee orthopedic surgeon who is committed to building a unique, differentiated surgical practice that provides a compelling reason for patients to travel to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Superb surgical skills are a pre-requisite and a long-term interest in treating patients with complex revision hip and knee reconstructive problems is required. A strong commitment to integrated clinical research and orthopedic education is expected. The position is 1.0 FTE clinical/surgical into which the candidate is expected to build a clinical research and education footprint. Protected time for research and education can be earned competitively as the clinical practice matures but the primary focus is establishing a differentiated, destination surgical practice.

License or certification
Must be board-certified/board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery with fellowship training in Adult Reconstructive Surgery and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota. Candidates should also have outstanding clinical and teaching skills, and experience in basic, clinical or translational research.
