Position description
The purpose of the PGY-1 and PGY-2 residencies at Mayo Clinic Health System — Mankato is to build on prior education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists who are responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions and eligible for board certification and continued postgraduate training as desired.

Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program. License to practice Pharmacy in Minnesota by end of orientation. Skills: Demonstrates excellent organizational skills. Able to tolerate high stress levels and frequent interruptions. Utilizes mature, independent judgment. Essential Functions: Facilitates the distribution and dispensing of medication orders. Performs all pharmaceutical dispensing functions and calculations at a rate within accuracy limits considered normal and acceptable. Demonstrates the ability to recognize the cognitive capability of patients and to tailor dosages and instructions to accommodate variation; especially as it relates to patient's age (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). Reviews and makes appropriate recommendations regarding total medication therapy, recognizing situations relating to allergy, adverse drug reactions, over dosage or under dosage (relative to patient age/weight), or interactions. Participates and actively contributes in interdisciplinary committees and patient care rounds as assigned. Maintains and enhances professional/job competency.
License or certification
License to practice Pharmacy in Minnesota by end of residency orientation.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $1,848, based on a full-time position.
