Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Position description
Physical Therapist Assistant will be directly supervised by their Physical Therapy Clinical Manager. Further reporting relationships exist between the Physical Therapist Assistant and all other members of the Rehabilitation Services Leadership team including Rehabilitation Services Operations Managers and the Director of Rehabilitation Services for MCHS-NWWI. Responsible for directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as determined by a recognized plan of care created by a the Physical Therapist. Administers treatments in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of function and create physical coping strategies in instances of permanent disability Physical Therapist Assistant coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (i.e. Rehabilitation Techs, Licensed Athletic Trainer etc). The Physical Therapist Assistant participates in operational aspects and performance improvement aspects of the department. Maintains awareness of budgetary and fiscal responsibility as it pertains to wages, overtime, productivity and continuing education. Ensures that patient documentation is complete and charges are accurately entered on a timely basis. Participates in all mandated departmental and organization equipment programs.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of rehabilitation equipment operation and maintenance. Decision-making, problem solving and team building skills.
Additional qualifications
Experience in physical therapy or related health profession preferred.
License or certification
Licensed or eligible for license in the state of Wisconsin. Current BLS certification. Drivers License may be required depending on location of hire.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.54 per hour.

Schedule details

Varied days and hours based on the department need; Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30
No minimum guaranteed hours. Regional coverage as needed, home health and hospice as well as other sites.

Weekend schedule
Approximately 1 of 4 weekends.
