Position description
Mayo Clinic’s Department of Management Engineering & Consulting (ME&C) is a group of professionals with diverse backgrounds in project management, business, healthcare, and engineering. We engage with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes by applying tools and methodologies that advance clinical practice, research, education and administration.

As a Project Manager in ME&C, you will have the unique ability to work with top leaders across our world-class organization on projects that range from large to mega in size to positively impact the care our patients receive every day. Large projects at Mayo Clinic in ME&C are defined as having 10-20 people on the core team.

Project Managers in ME&C can expect a robust mentorship program to acclimate to our organization and the work we do. Supporting your professional growth through internal educational opportunities is highly important to us to keep you on the cutting edge. You can expect to see a diversity of projects starting smaller and growing to large and mega sized while you orientate to our culture and complexity of our large organization, all while being assigned an experienced mentor to help with your transition as well as department specific new staff onboarding. Over time, you can expect to have 3-5 concurrent projects as part of your project mix.

Our ideal candidate will have strong communication and teamwork skills, be excellent at building relationships, and have a strong talent triangle consisting of technical, leadership and strategic business management skills. The Project Manager will assume primary responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and delivering project activities through the entire project life cycle (from initiation to hand off to customer) that are broad in scope. The Project Manager is responsible to achieve project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to Mayo Clinic project management methodologies and standards.

If you have multi-department/cross-functional project management experience on large to mega sized projects, enjoy working on teams and want to be actively engaged in the project work by directly applying PMP demonstrated knowledge and use of standard project management tools, as well as change management experience, we would like you to consider this life-changing career.
Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience in Project Management and business related activities or Master's degree with 4 years of experience in Project Management related activities.
Additional qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

Education preference: project management, business administration, management.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approximately $3,066.40, based on a full-time position.
