Position description
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Quality Specialist to deliver strategic and operational business consulting services for Facilities Operations focused primarily on Lean Transformation, Efficiency, and Compliance. Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis in support of the development and delivery of strategic planning, performance management, and/or program evaluation. Formulate mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and analyze information that assists management with policy formulation or other managerial functions. Apply business process transformation, quality improvement and systems engineering methodologies. Participate in a collaborative team environment, lead project teams through complex and ambiguous situations, develop timely solutions that effectively address business need, serve as a catalyst for change, and interact and maintain relationships with all levels of staff, including senior-level executives. Manage single threaded projects of minimal complexity to larger scale complexity. Accountable to manage project with approved scope, schedule and budget. Identify, translate and apply pre-defined best practices on assigned projects. Direct and coordinate all aspects of project including other assigned resources (personnel, tools, etc.). Focus on improving and refining processes. Perform data analysis, development of findings and recommendations, and presentation including solution/deliverable, development, and coordinating deployment of deliverables. Participate in development and implementation of improvement strategy Facilitate/Coach improvement efforts to support Lean Transformation. Develop and perform training related to improvement concepts. Apply lean philosophy and utilize six sigma tools for measuring and analyzing project data. Create project dashboards for different groups and collaborate with various groups for enhancing department data reporting. Utilize various Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools for data collection and analysis for Control Center. Develop a division-wide Tableau Dashboard for reporting and tracking maturity of objectives. Create and maintain Facilities Management Standard Work Manual to support Department strategic goals. Work with leadership to create business plans for future projects and division growth.

Qualifications: The position requires a Master’s degree, or higher, or foreign equivalent in Operations Research, Statistics, Engineering Management or closely related field. The position requires at least 2 years (24 months) of experience as a Systems Engineer, Quality Management Engineer or closely related occupation working with the following tools and technologies: Microsoft Visio, Six Sigma Tools, Process and Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Pareto Analysis, Control Charts, FMEA, Access, SharePoint, Kaizen, JIT, Fish Bone and SIPOC Diagram, 8D, PDCA, Business Performance Reporting, Visual Management, Stakeholder Analysis, and Control Plans. All experience may be gained concurrently, before or after or during Master’s degree program.
