Rotate throughout the CT Department within Radiology providing assistance the the CT Technologists in exams and procedures. Assist outpatients from waiting areas and ED patients to CT exam suite in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Maitain patient's confidentiality at all times. Communicate professionally with CT staff, patients and radiologist. Maintains an orderly, well organized work area and keeps supplies and equipment readily available while ensuring proper storage of all supplies and equipment in teh CT work unit. This position requires full use of arms, hands, reaching above your head and trunck rotation/twisting. Position requires continuous movement and walking. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned by Technologist, assists in invasive and non-invasive exams, including the removal of IV's, safely transferring patients on and off scanner tables, properly preparing patients on and off the scanner tables, preparing CT scanner set up for various exams, have computer skills. Works varied hours which include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
High School Graduate or G.E.D Equivalent. Previous hospital, clincal, or patient care experience preferred. Requires excellent communication skills, telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests and staff. Basic computer skills are required. Must be able to multitask and adapt to unpredictable situations.
Must be able to complete the Mayo Clinc's New Employee Orientation and General Systems Training. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and lift more than 50 pounds with assistance. Physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Requires upper and lower physical strength to be able to manage the pushing and pulling of stretchers with and without patients occupying them.
License or certification
Successful completion of a BLS course within the first 6 months of employment.
Completion of the Communications in Healthcare class within the first year of employment.
