The Division of Medical Physics in the Radiology Department at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL invites applicants interested in a faculty position in our clinical Medical Physics division.
The primary focus of the position is to further the clinical mission of the department by supporting innovative clinical, research, and education programs. The Radiology Department includes 64 radiologists, 4 staff medical physicists and 5 medical physicist assistants. This position will provide direct support and direction for projects driven by Radiology, including specification of software and hardware for new equipment, periodic evaluation of equipment performance, development of advanced clinical applications and procedures, and study design, integration and performance optimization of clinical and research protocols. There are ample opportunities for strong collaborations with scientists and clinicians from other Mayo campuses (Rochester and Arizona). The successful applicant will be expected to contribute primarily to MRI with opportunities to advance a new 7T MRI program. Interest and experience in innovation, research, and development are desirable.
License or certification
Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Medical Physics (or equivalent) and be board-eligible or board-certified with ABR (American Board of Radiology.
