The Mayo Clinic Peri-Anesthesia 101 Training Program is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for a nursing career in the Pre-Operative and Post Anesthesia Care unit (PACU). The program will be for experienced RN's with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. This position will provide high-quality didactic and clinical experiences needed to help you become a Peri-Anesthesia RN. A selection committee will carefully review each candidates completed application and supporting documentation before the pre-screening and interview process will begin. Upon acceptance into the program, candidates will be paid a market competitive RN hourly rate and will be considered benefits eligible. Satisfactory performance at the end of the training program will lead to an offer to continue employment as a Peri-Anesthesia RN. The start date of this program will be May 17th 2021. Relocation is offered for those outside of a 70 mile radius.
Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited associate’s degree or diploma program. If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is also required. If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, at least one year of RN experience (within the last 5 years) in an applicable care setting is required.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date after January 1, 2013, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within 5 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.

3. One Recommendation letter from a clinical instructor or current supervisor
Clinical competencies include: ability to learn and adapt to Mayo Clinic's guidelines and standards of care, policies and procedures; patients and staff safety policy and procedures. Ability to function in a high stress environment. Understand team concepts with the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team. Excellent communication skills are required. Stands and Walks almost continuously during assigned work schedule.
License or certification
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency through American Heart Association, American Red Cross or United States Military.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Required by day 1 of employment.
Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
Days Vary; Rotating Call for weeknights, weekends and holidays is required.
