Dr. Akhilesh Pandey’s systems biology laboratory in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) and Center for Individualized Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for cancer biology. Dr. Pandey’s laboratory focuses on using mass spectrometry-based proteomics to study cancer signaling and identify therapeutic targets for breast cancer and ovarian cancer. The studies are funded by National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense and Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance. This position is immediately available and requires a PhD in a relevant area with a strong interest in the biology of cancer, biochemistry and proteomics. This postdoctoral fellowship provides a unique opportunity to use integrated approaches including molecular and cellular biology techniques, patient-derived xenograft models and the state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics to study cancer signaling. Innate curiosity, drive, strong work ethic, communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work as a team are essential for this position. The candidate will be co-mentored by Dr. Pandey and Dr. Xinyan Wu, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Mayo Clinic. Previous experience in molecular biology, tissue culture and animal models with a strong publication record is highly desirable.
