The Schafer Lab is seeking a Research Fellow to participate in NIH-funded aging research. The candidate should have an interest in studying cellular senescence as a mechanism contributing to age-related systemic and brain dysfunction. The research will be multidisciplinary, featuring state-of-the-art resources including novel transgenic mouse models, cytometric and imaging analysis of the brain cell landscape, translational analysis of clinical samples and datasets, as well as access to outstanding core facilities and collaborators. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training, peer-reviewed publications, and references. Candidates with experience in neuroscience, immunology, or cellular and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. Established experience in at least two of the following domains is highly desirable: transgenic mouse model experimentation, imaging (e.g. fluorescence, confocal, or multiphoton microscopy), flow/mass cytometry, single cell sequencing, high-throughput proteomics, and/or bioinformatics analysis.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
