Research Fellow - Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
Position description
The lab of Dr. Matthew Schellenberg in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology seeks to fill two positions for Post-Doctoral Fellows. The Schellenberg lab is building a multi-disciplinary team that will examine the molecular basis of important DNA repair activities, mechanisms of regulation, and how repair outcomes are linked to processes of carcinogenesis and cancer treatments. Related projects will examine specific components or aspects of the DNA Damage Response using the facilities and resources available at Mayo Clinic. Experienced applicants with skills or interests in either of two tracks: 1) molecular biology, protein chemistry, and protein structure (X-ray crystallography, SAXS, or Cryo-EM) or 2) tissue culture models of DNA repair, proteomics, and confocal microscopy are strongly encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral fellows at Mayo Clinic are part of an outstanding academic research environment, and have access to outstanding core facilities at Mayo Clinic that provide training and access to specialized equipment including; mass spectrometry, confocal and electron microscopy, RNAi, bioinformatics, NMR, and numerous other facilities. The X-ray crystallography facility will be equipped with a new, cutting-edge X-ray diffractometer and robotics to support macromolecular crystallization and structure determination. At Mayo Clinic, Post-Doctoral Fellows are also supported with an attractive benefits package.
