Research Fellow, Cell Biology and Physiology of Lipid and Energy Metabolism
A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately to investigate the basic mechanisms by which fatty acid utilization and triglyceride storage are regulated and how their dysregulation affects the development of obesity-related metabolic disorders. The host laboratory utilizes cutting-edge technologies including conditional gene targeting, viral-based gene transfer, confocal cell imaging, protein and lipid profiling, and metabolic flux tracing for in vitro and in vivo metabolic analyses. In addition, Mayo Clinic has outstanding core research facilities (microscopy & imaging, MassSpec proteomics and lipidomics as well as animal metabolic phenotyping) for the rapid advancement of research work.A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
