Position description
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the Microbiome Laboratory at Mayo Clinic. The position is better suited for someone with a microbial bioinformatics and computational modeling background, preferably with strong programming, mathematical, physics, or engineering experience. The main goal of the fellowship will be to support the creation, testing, and incorporation of next-generation sequencing technologies in Clinical Microbiology as well as room for collaboration on independent projects. 800146; J2WRTP
Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
Additional qualifications
Requires a Ph.D in life sciences from an accredited graduate program. Good skills in personal interactions and written and verbal communication. Adherence to Mayo policies and procedures. Decision making and problem solving ability. Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects. Ability to function well in a team setting and work in a diverse work environment.
