A postdoctoral research position in cancer biology and proteomics is available in the Department Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Medicine (MPET) at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. This position is under mentorship of Dr. Akhilesh Pandey and Dr. Xinyan Wu. Their research focuses on using mass spectrometry-based proteomics to study cancer signaling and identify therapeutic targets for breast cancer and ovarian cancer. The studies are funded by National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense and Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance. This position is immediately available and requires a PhD in a relevant area with a strong interest in cancer biology, molecular biology and biochemistry.
This postdoctoral fellowship provides a unique opportunity to use integrated approaches including molecular and cellular biology techniques, patient-derived xenograft models and the state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics to study cancer signaling. Innate curiosity, drive, strong work ethic, communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work as a team are essential for this position. Previous experience in molecular biology, tissue culture and animal models with a strong publication record is highly desirable.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
