Position description
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the Department of Medical Oncology.

What we do:
This research team in the Division of Medical Oncology (Rochester, MN) is led by Dr. Aminah Jatoi. The successful applicant will join a collaborative research team that focuses on understanding quality of life and cancer symptoms in patients with solid tumor malignancies. Mayo Clinic is a non-profit organization that integrates research with clinical practice and education. Current studies are specifically focused on reviewing medical records to understand signs and symptoms of cancer, interviewing patients to better understand some of the issues they face, and conducting interventional studies to help palliate symptoms.


What we’re looking for: This research team invites applications for a 1-year paid postdoctoral research fellowship position. This fellowship will require in person attendance from approximately May 2021-April 2022.

Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills, high enthusiasm and curiosity about science, as well as a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills, while working effectively with the principal investigator and colleagues, are essential for this position.

What to expect: The selected individual will get first-hand experience in both retrospective and prospective clinical research, and will have opportunities for scientific career development through strong mentorship and publishing high quality manuscripts.

Please also be prepared that you may be asked to provide three letters of recommendation to the hiring PI prior to an interview.

Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
