Position description
The Cochlear Implant Program at Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota is seeking applicants for a one- or two-year postdoctoral research Fellowship. This position will be responsible for conducting research with cochlear implant patients. The Department has an active research and clinical program and currently implants 160 patients per year.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a world-class multi-disciplinary cochlear implant team comprised of Neurotologists, Radiologists, Audiologists, Audiology Assistants and Speech Language Pathologists. The successful candidate will perform cochlear implant research that involves several lines of study. This includes investigating new front-end signal processing technologies, speech coding strategies, intra- and post-operative electrophysiological studies and developing new cochlear implant fitting methodologies. The Research Fellow will be mentored by Aniket Saoji, Ph.D., and Devin McCaslin, Ph.D., Matt Carlson, M.D., Brian Neff, M.D., and Colin Driscoll, M.D.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program such as doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD). Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
