Position description
A postdoctoral Research Fellow position is currently available in a NIH-funded muscle/stem cell biology laboratory at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). The ideal candidate has/will have a PhD in the Biological Sciences (or related field), substantial technical expertise in cellular/molecular biology assays, mouse genetics, proteomics/metabolomics and/or bioinformatics, and a history of scientific productivity including publications in peer-reviewed journals. Potential projects will broadly address adult stem cell dysfunction in disease/following trauma and may involve: (1) single cell studies; (2) high throughput sequencing/bioinformatics; (3) functional stem cell studies in mice; or (4) metabolomics/fluxomics analyses. More information about the lab can be found here: Fellows are expected to conduct independent and collaborative projects within a dynamic research group, which includes experimental design, data collection and interpretation, presenting data at national/international meetings, manuscript preparation, and grant writing.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. 800146; J2WRTP
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
