Responsible for attaining business-to-business sales and revenue objectives for Mayo Clinic Complex Care program and other Contracting and Payer Relations market product opportunities as well as introducing complementary products from other Mayo Clinic service line areas and departments. Primary markets include self-funded employers, payer partner organizations and employer consortiums. Complementary products and services include the introduction of other products such as Executive Health as well as other products yet to be developed. Approximately 30% travel required. The Senior Sales Manager serves in a mentor role with other sales and account management staff. Sales responsibilities include prospecting, qualifying, lead generation, timely lead follow-up, relationship selling via a combination of telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence, proposal writing, travel planning, personal presentations, closing, pricing and contract negotiation. Account management responsibilities include working in cooperation with a team that includes implementation, communications, client service, revenue cycle, operations and the practice to achieve long-term client satisfaction, retention, and renewals, and to develop cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Management, Healthcare, Human Resources or Benefits preferred; plus nine years’ experience in business-to business sales in a healthcare business environment, corporate account management, client service, or sales within the health care, health promotion, or health insurance industry preferred. Or a Master’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Management, Healthcare, Human Resources or Benefits preferred; plus five years’ experience in business-to business sales in healthcare business environment, corporate account management, client service, or sales within the health care, health promotion, human resources or benefits, or health insurance industry preferred.
Proven organizational, human relations, presentation development and delivery and verbal and written communications skills. Requires decision-making and problem solving ability. Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible and able to perform well within multifunctional environments. Ability to manage people and projects simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $4729.60, based on a full-time position.
Generally M-F 8am-5pm, but travel or meetings in other time zones may extend those hours on occasion.
Currently, this vacancy is open to telework/ telecommute. Candidates expected to reside within a reasonable travel distance to the facility in order to work onsite for business needs, client and project meetings.
