Responsible for developing data ingestion and data processing pipelines to be utilized by Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL). In conjunction with more senior technical staff and MCL partners,
develops batch and real-time pipelines that address specific customer needs. Architect and implement Extraction, Transformation, Load (ETL) and other data processing pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and similar tools. Possess deep understanding of batch and real-time data pipelines. Able to analyze data and conduct integration tests to validate data against source systems. Willing to learn new data processing and ETL tools as team transitions from on premise databases to Google Cloud. Ability to work on multiple initiatives and reprioritize based on changing demands.
Evaluates alternative approaches and presents recommendations to teams and unit leadership. Regularly reviews applications and makes modifications and/or updates to ensure currency and functionality within established environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, inquisitive, and able to take on new challenges without having all the parameters. Open to new learning and not afraid to pose difficult questions. Ability to work with cross-functional teams is a must.
- Knowledge and experience in Data Warehousing and Data Analysis.
- 5+ Years' experience with SQL.
- 3+ Years' experience with ETL tools such as SSIS and Informatica.
- Willingness to learn new data processing tools.
- Experience with loading data into Google BigQuery is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, schedule and prioritize work to meet various schedules and objectives.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting/problem solving, and time management skills.
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience; Or, Associate’s degree and 7 years’ experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience.
Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
Applies effective system design principles and software development methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task among multiple complex assigned tasks/projects.
Evidence of strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills and ability to adjust the message as appropriate to the audiences of varying technical capabilities.
Evidence of project management skills.
Possesses an objective and positive attitude with all tasks and projects.
Possesses a high level of project and deliverable consistency through demonstrated repeatable and reliable performance.
Evidence of ability to take initiative and proactive on starting tasks and assignments and ability to work independently.
Experience working in healthcare technology.
Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications.
Masters degree in applicable field preferred.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

This vacancy may be open to full time telework candidates within the U.S./ reasonable travel to a Mayo facility if ever a business need/ meeting or client-facing. Mayo Clinic has facilities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Florida.
