A Special Project Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr Tushar Patel. The lab focuses on liver disease with an emphasis on cellular and molecular mechanisms related to pathogenesis and therapeutics of liver cancers.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated and organized individual to join our group. Candidates should have a passion for science, and a strong interest to learn and implement new knowledge. Individuals should have attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage tasks in a timely manner. They should be able to analyze, troubleshoot and learn and perform new tasks. Basic laboratory techniques and computer skills are required. Prior experience working with mice is an advantage.
A Special Project Associate at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to execute experimental studies in support of lab goals and grant commitments as designated by the Principal Investigator. Laboratory tasks may include maintaining cell culture, drug treatment, running biological assays, RNA/protein isolation, PCR and cell imaging. Candidates will observe findings, record evidence, organize information, analyze data, and report results. Assists in maintaining laboratory instruments, supplies, and documents.
This position provides opportunity to transition into a benefit-eligible position after the initial length of 3 months, contingent upon satisfactory performance.
