Charter House's mission is to provide the best care through practice, education, and research. The Staff Development Coordinator and Infection Preventionist works collaboratively within the Charter House Department of Health Services and with Charter House Leadership to improve the orientation and ongoing education of staff as it relates to nursing practice. This will include development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs to address various methods of learning preferences and needs. The Staff Development Coordinator and Infection Preventionist is also responsible for the development and collaboration with nursing leadership to implement all aspects of the Infection Prevention program. The Staff Development Coordinator and Infection Preventionist will function as a leader, educator, and consultant to the Quality Improvement program. Adheres to Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and Nurse Practice Act.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Minnesota RN license or current license deemed appropriate by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, at least one of which must be in the provision of Home care or Assisted Living.
The Staff Development Coordinator and Infection Preventionist must be able to work independently. Requires good communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff. Strong problem solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, analyze and prioritize information to be used in the development and growth of education, infection prevention and quality improvement programs. Must be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations that relate to Home Care and Long-Term care. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Works flexible hours, which primarily are days, but may require an occasional evening, night, or weekend.
License or certification
MN Registered Nurse license; Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (must come from one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,232.00, based on a full-time position.
No weekend schedule at this time.
