Position description

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking a Surgical Pathologist with fellowship training in bone and soft tissue pathology to work in a large academic group practice setting. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills and extensive experience in general surgical pathology and bone/ soft tissue pathology. New graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, is a unique practice environment, focused on the needs of the patient and dedicated to collegiality and teamwork. Our clinical pathology laboratory offers a robust and rapidly growing test menu. The selected candidate will join a group of 20 pathology consultants. All Surgical and Clinical pathologists have subspecialty expertise and participate in scholarly activities through research and education. The practice offers a stimulating environment for professional growth and career development. Mayo Clinic in Florida has a robust sarcoma program that evaluates 300 new sarcoma patients a year, and enrolls 60 new patients a year to therapeutic sarcoma clinical studies. The new faculty member will work closely with our large multi-disciplinary team of physicians from surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, orthopedic oncology, head and neck surgery, gynecologic oncology, musculoskeletal and body radiology, and interventional radiology to deliver coordinated care to our sarcoma patients. The new faculty member will lead presentations and discussion of pathology review for cases at our weekly sarcoma tumor board which is run from our site and video-conferenced between multiple national sarcoma centers. The position includes an academic appointment with the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic.

License or certification
Qualified candidates should hold an MD/DO or MD/DO-PhD and be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology. Fellowship training in bone and soft is required. Eligibility for Florida licensure is required.
