Position description
Assists the surgeon during operative procedures by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instrumentation and other supplies. Maintains the surgical field through aseptic practices. Ensures the operating suite is adequately prepared for the procedure. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the peri-operative team. Monitors the PAR level of surgical instruments and supplies. Actively participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Surgical Technician program graduate. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Willingness to accept new ideas and work under stressful conditions. Basic computer knowledge.
Additional qualifications
AST membership, preferred. Surgical Technologist Certification, preferred.
License or certification
Current BLS Certification.
Exemption status

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.95 per hour.

80 hours every two week pay period.
Schedule details
8 hour rotating shifts 80 hours every two week pay period. 7 days/week; 24 hours/day including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays with on call rotation during the week and weekends.
Weekend schedule
This position has a scheduled weekend rotation.
