Assists the surgeon during operative procedures by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instrumentation and other supplies. Maintains the surgical field through aseptic practices. Ensures the operating suite is adequately prepared for the procedure. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the peri-operative team. Monitors the PAR level of surgical instruments and supplies. Actively participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement initiatives.
Surgical Technician program graduate.
AST membership, preferred. Surgical Technologist Certification, preferred.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Willingness to accept new ideas and work under stressful conditions. Basic computer knowledge.
License or certification
Current BLS Certification, or will obtain prior to hire.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.39 per hour.
Hours / Pay period
64 hours every two week pay period
Rotating 8-hour shifts. Shift start times include 7:00 am, 10:00 am, 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Additional call rotation on week days and weekends per department need. Schedule details to be discussed further during interviews.
This position has a scheduled weekend rotation.
