The Vice Chair is a member of senior administration and is responsible for administrative direction and oversight of the site based Research activities. The Vice Chair is accountable for strategic planning, fiscal management, staff assessment and mentoring and monitoring of operational and programmatic outcomes. The Vice Chair must collaborate with scientists, physicians and administrative leaders throughout the enterprise to enhance relationships and ensure successful operations of strategic directives. The Vice Chair also participates in system wide strategic planning for research and performs system wide administrative functions in support of the institutional mission and Mayo Clinic Research vision.
Masters degree in business, health care administration or related field plus eight years of research and/or health care management experience required. Operational experience must include working with scientists, physicians and allied health staff. Must have demonstrated competencies in leadership, management, operations and communication. Broad based upper management experience is required in order to coordinate a wide range of activities in both clinic and hospital settings.
Demonstrated leadership expertise in areas providing administrative direction.
License or certification
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
