Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Unparalleled care. Unlimited possibility.

At Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with some of the boldest minds in medicine. Get access to cutting-edge innovations, help treat complex cases, and make a difference in the lives of patients, all while growing and developing your own skills as part of a nationally respected team. Sharing the knowledge and expertise that only Mayo Clinic can provide, we are able to bring quality care to patients closer to home. This is a rare opportunity to practice full-scope plastic surgery with strong volume, flexibility to grow your interests, and a lifestyle that private practice cannot match.

A distinguished opportunity in plastic surgery.

The Division of Plastic Surgery at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin invites you to join a well-established, high-demand plastic surgery practice within an integrated health system where you can build a meaningful, sustainable career grounded in both clinical excellence and quality of life. This position offers a rare opportunity in plastic surgery: a broad-based, community practice that blends diverse reconstructive and aesthetic cases with a strong foundation of “bread and butter” plastics. You will maintain a wide scope of practice—while still having the flexibility to develop and grow niche interests over time, supported by a collaborative network for referral and subspecialty partnership.

You’ll step into a well-developed referral base with immediate access to cases, allowing you to focus on what matters most—delivering excellent patient care and surgical outcomes.

What truly distinguishes this opportunity is the environment:

  • predictable schedule and manageable workload, supporting work-life balance uncommon in the field
  • collegial, team-based model with strong APP and nursing support
  • The ability to practice the full scope of plastic surgery without the pressures of private practice business management

Experience a truly unique culture.

This role gives you the best parts of plastic surgery—broad clinical practice, strong volume, and the ability to grow your interests—without the pressures of academia or private practice. It’s a rare opportunity to focus on patient care and still have a great lifestyle.

Do real plastic surgery.

  • Enjoy broad-scope cases in reconstructive and cosmetic.
  • Experience less hyper-subspecialized burnout.
  • Maintain a full skillset vs being siloed.

Build what you want out of your career—safely.

  • Develop niche interests without marketing burden, financial risk, and competition pressure.
  • Have the confidence you’re backed by system referrals and established infrastructure.

Concentrate on practicing medicine—not run a business.

  • No overhead, staffing, or billing stress.
  • Focus on what matters most—surgery and outcomes.
  • Provide integrated care with built-in referrals.

We provide a lifestyle that private practice struggles to match.

  • Experience balance with a predictable schedule and hours.
  • Refresh with PTO and call structure stability.
  • Enjoy community living.

Our model of care is truly unique.

  • Many typical roles in plastics today are narrow in scope, focusing on highly specialized academics or high-pressure cosmetic practices.
  • Our practice model is broad-based and explicitly rare in the field.
