Responsibilities
The Division of Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic Florida is seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized interest and expertise in diseases of gut-brain interaction (DGBI) and psychologically influenced gastrointestinal conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering outstanding patient care, conducting impactful research, and advancing education in the rapidly evolving field of behavioral gastroenterology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based psychological evaluation and intervention for patients with GI conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional dyspepsia, functional abdominal pain, cyclic vomiting syndrome, and GI manifestations of anxiety or trauma.
- Collaborate with gastroenterologists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals in integrated care pathways.
- Contribute to clinical research in behavioral health approaches to GI disorders, including participation in funded research and the development of new studies.
- Engage in education and training of fellows, residents, medical students, and other health professionals.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the care of patients with DGBI and other complex GI disorders.

Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Completion of an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship (ideally with a focus on health psychology or GI-related behavioral medicine).
- Eligible for or currently licensed as a psychologist in the state of Florida.
- Demonstrated expertise or training in GI behavioral health
- Strong clinical skills in cognitive behavioral therapy, gut-directed hypnotherapy, and other modalities relevant to GI care.
- Track record of or interest in academic scholarship, including clinical research and education.
