Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin is seeking a full-time General Orthopedic Surgeon (1.0 FTE) to join a highly respected, physician-led multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate would specialize in general orthopedic surgery with a strong interest in supplying a full complement of orthopedic services. The role will have general call at a level 3 trauma center.

We are seeking a candidate with a desire to offer a broad array of general orthopedic surgery options including total joint replacements of all types. We are looking for a candidate that is collaborative and approaches healthcare as a team leader.
Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse is a well-established multi-specialty group practice with three other Orthopedic Surgeons and will have four NP/PA providers when fully staffed. The ideal candidate should be a team player, willing to share call, enjoy working closely with multi-specialty group members and communicating well with patients and colleagues. Mayo Clinic Health System’s La Crosse Hospital is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art, 98-bed medical center seamlessly connected to our surgery center. The hospital features the latest surgical technology, advanced imaging capabilities, and modern patient amenities designed to optimize both the surgical experience and patient recovery. This innovative environment offers orthopedic surgeons the opportunity to practice at the forefront of medicine in a collaborative, patient-centered setting."
The ideal candidate will join a team of general, and specialty trained orthopedic surgeons in Southwestern Wisconsin, practicing in an organized level 3 trauma center. The highly skilled and loyal team of surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, radiology, rehabilitation, pain clinic and OR staff create a safe and friendly environment for our patients. Excellent work/life balance exists with shared trauma call with the other orthopedic partners.
Practice Details:
- Full spectrum of orthopedic care with the support and backing of Mayo Clinic and subspecialty support for more complex cases.
- Clinic location in La Crosse, Onalaska, and other sites as needed.
- Work closely with a strong orthopedic surgeon team with sports medicine and adult recon trained surgeons, non-operative sports medicine physicians, orthopedic dedicated physician assistants, embedded athletic trainers and physical therapists, and clinic RNs/MAs all supporting the orthopedic program.
- Practice includes rehabilitation services on-site and in surrounding clinics.
- Exceptional quality outcomes in all the cares we provide, including total joint outcomes, Medicare star ratings and NSQIP.
Qualifications
- Board-certified/Board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Sports Medicine Fellowship
- Eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin
- Medical staff will supervise advanced practice clinicians.
- Medical staff may need to supply outreach services as part of their role in the system.
