Responsibilities

This is a full-time hybrid position that will require the incumbent to be on-site three days per week. You must live within a reasonable driving distance of a Mayo Clinic location including Phoenix, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; or Rochester, Minnesota. 

The Division Chair leads and manages the Division of Media Support Services, and drives the coordination and leadership activities of the division across the enterprise. The Division Chair oversees media development, production and distribution across all Mayo Clinic entities, and coordinates media activities with the Mayo Clinic Health System. Responsibilities include: develop and implement core media systems strategy for all of Mayo Clinic; develop and maintain internal and external client/vendor/peer relationships; coach and mentor staff; represent the division/department to, and participate in institutional oversight groups, task groups, committees and external groups; plan and manage Mayo resources (projects, people, facilities, money and equipment) in an effective and efficient manner; develop and foster strategies and directions that support division, department and institution goals and objectives; provide leadership in the design, selection, and application of the media creation, production and delivery systems resources to satisfy the requirements of the enterprise; may serve as chair, secretary, assistant secretary or member of media-related or other related enterprise committees. The division chair has overall responsibility for the division budget and strategic planning activities.



Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in multimedia disciplines (e.g. media development, creation or delivery platforms), which includes 7 years of management/ leadership experience required. Master’s degree preferred. 

  • Demonstrated depth of training, knowledge and experience across multiple media types is essential. 
  • Demonstrated breadth of experience with personnel management, resource allocation, virtual teams, coaching and mentoring. 
  • Demonstrated, recent, relevant success in leadership and management preferably in healthcare organizations. 
  • Demonstrated experience with managing both custom created and vendor-supplied products and services. 
  • Demonstrated skill in effective decision making and effective consensus management. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of finance, business processes, budgeting and human resources development. 
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated history of continuing education in personnel and administrative processes. 
  • Current Accredited Media Manager certification awarded by the Communications Media Management Association; Or, individuals actively pursuing accreditation may be granted two years to achieve the certification.
