Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join our talented and multi-faceted Department of Otolaryngology and the ACS Level 1 Accredited Mayo Clinic Children’s Center in Rochester, MN. Mayo Clinic has again been recognized as the best hospital in the nation for 2023-2024 by U.S. News and World Report.
The qualified candidate will join a team of experienced Pediatric Otolaryngologists, the department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Mayo Clinic system which focuses on world-class patient centric tertiary care.
Candidates must possess:
- MD or MD/PhD degree from an accredited institution
- American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Certification
- Eligibility for licensure in the state of Minnesota
- Fellowship training in an accredited pediatric fellowship
The opportunity offers the appropriate person with considerable clinical, academic, teaching, and leadership experience:
- To expand and lead clinical care in any of the following sub-specialties:
- Aerodigestive and airway reconstruction
- Pediatric nasal and skull base tumors
- Cleft Lip/Palate and VPI
- The opportunity to create and expand any individual interests
- Research and Innovation support and time
- Opportunity to participate in a thriving global surgery program with ample options for clinical service, education and research abroad.
- The opportunity to work one-on-one in a mentorship and educational role with Mayo Clinic residents in an apprenticeship model that has been in existence since the inception of the Mayo Graduate Education Program.
Position and Hospital Highlights:
- The pediatric otolaryngology division of the department actively participates in many multidisciplinary teams including aerodigestive clinic/complex airway practice, pediatric head and neck tumor, clinic craniofacial cleft lip/palate clinic, vascular anomalies clinic, and is looking to develop more as demands increase.
- St. Mary’s Hospital is a 1,265 bed hospital with nearly 70 operating rooms including Mayo Eugenio Litta Children’s Hospital, a 148-bed hospital within the Saint Marys Hospital. It houses a pediatric NICU, PICU and Cardiac ICU with full time pediatric intensive specialists.
- The Mayo Clinic Children’s surgical center features a 13 operating room and 2 procedure room surgical suite dedicated to pediatric multidisciplinary surgical care. This suite is staffed by dedicated pediatric anesthesiologists, pre-op and post-op nurses and dedicated pediatric surgical personnel.

Compensation Detail
The minimum starting salary range for surgical specialties may range from $279,000 to $814,000. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate may vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
