Responsibilities

The Senior Creative Director – Brand is responsible for advancing, maintaining, and integration of the visual identity across the enterprise and portfolios. The Senior Creative Director – Brand keeps Mayo Clinic on the cutting edge of design across media types including digital, interactive, mobile, video/sound, environmental, photography, presentation and data visualization. They serve as a consultant to internal and external groups and bring expert knowledge to all brand elements including the use of type, color, illustration, photography, video, motion, and data. In addition to internal oversight, the Senior Creative Director – Brand will provide feedback and direction to external agency and production partners, and must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to present and share best practices. This role will be a hands-on, working creative, in addition to managing projects, teams, and service lines.



Qualifications

A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in design, advertising, or a related industry.
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity in a creative position – either with direct reports or in creative project supervisory position.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
An established portfolio of elevated design concepts demonstrating expertise in a range of creative mediums and large integrated campaigns. 
Previous experience in digital, video, rich media, motion, photography art direction, emerging media, and other creative and communications disciplines required, including audio/sound. 
Agency experience strongly preferred.
Must be a strategic thinker, and capable doer. Must be self-motivated, and adept at managing their own workload and maintaining awareness of the workloads of the greater team. Must be able to advance multiple projects at a time and deliver within the designated timelines. Must have a proven history of managing teams and projects.
Versed in big brand theory. Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. Has experience presenting and/or training others in design philosophy, elements, or theory.
Must be able to maintain excellent relationships and thoughtful rapport with stakeholders from each group. Must be a thought-leader with the ability to evangelize and sell brand concepts from initiation to completion and have the ability to pivot quickly while keeping goals front and center. 
Must possess team growing and building skills including hands-on mentorship, setting and enforcing high design and performance expectations, and driving the appropriate and personalized professional development of all team members. Must have a desire to mentor, offering guidance and encouragement, individual development, and a learning environment.
Should be comfortable working within established brand guidelines while continuing to find new and interesting ways to express the brand within those guidelines. Must understand and defend the importance of brand consistency. Should have a wide personal frame of reference in areas of design, culture, media, and arts and have a confident, dynamic, highly creative vision. 
Must be a consistent, accountable team player who leads by positive example insuring solid chemistry, and has zero ego or attitude. Requires a driven work ethic, a responsibility to the brand, and a desire to contribute to the collaborative culture at Mayo Clinic. Must have a passion for creative innovation, and a demonstrated ability to drive new ideas and bring in new concepts or methodologies and/or efficiencies. Being a nice person is non-negotiable.

$131,705.60 - $190,923.20/ year. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
