Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst-Senior Financial Analyst for the Mayo Clinic Platform Orchestrate Program will be a key member of the team, driving research-focused, data-enabled partnerships within the life sciences, biopharmaceutical and medical device sectors. This individual will develop key financial models and business requirements for complex, industry-academic research collaborations that integrate real-world data, artificial intelligence, and clinical expertise to accelerate discovery and development.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in business and financial systems and tools, with experience in medical or biopharma organizations, and the interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders alike.
Key competencies and responsibilities:
- Proficient understanding of budget creation, financial modeling, creation of reports, and subsequent operationalization, including billing and reporting of Key Performance Indicators.
- Understands and considers the business and the technical needs of all stakeholders with the goal of providing a quality product or process that meets the business objectives.
- Examines costs, benefits and risks associated with the proposed project and recommends alternatives for solutions throughout the business life cycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to synthesize, articulate and document financial and business objectives and requirements by applying system and analytical thinking, methodology and discipline.
- Performs data analysis, defines and documents business, financial and compliance requirements, supporting translation to specifications early in the development of business proposals.
- Assists project operational leaders in linking project deliverables to billing and milestones earn-out schedules.
- Demonstrates system and analytical thinking capability. Progressive knowledge and demonstrated use of business and financial analysis methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal communications. Builds credibility, rapport and partners with others to understand their needs and provides conflict resolution, problem solving, and ability to drive consensus.
- Works in partnership with stakeholders to develop a solid knowledge base of business and financial needs.
- May manage projects of mid-level complexity, which could include subcomponents of larger-scale projects as directed by project leaders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's and 6 years’ experience in business analysis, business administration, information science, health or science-related field OR Master’s and 2 years’ experience in business analysis, business administration, information science, health or science-related field. Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, analytics and accounting is highly preferred.
