Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician with a strong background in the evaluation and management of complex adult patients to join our renowned Executive Health Program within the Division of General Internal Medicine.
The Division of General Internal Medicine is an ambulatory practice that includes Executive Health, International Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Consultative Medicine. We are seeking a clinician with an innovative mindset who is passionate about delivering highly personalized, consultative care and who thrives in a collaborative academic environment.
Position Highlights
In this role, the selected candidate will provide exceptional, patient-centered, evidence-informed care in an episodic, non-primary care setting. The Executive Health program emphasizes personalized care, meaningful and unhurried patient interactions, and collaboration with specialists across the institution.
- Thrive with a patient schedule designed to foster meaningful, unrushed interactions centered on thoughtful, personalized care.
Collaborate with world-renowned subspecialists and access top-tier diagnostic resources.
Join a forward-thinking, well-resourced team that embraces healthcare innovation and continuous improvement.
- Engage in professional development opportunities in education, research, leadership, and Division-funded project time to develop and implement a distinctive clinical niche.
Benefit from a competitive compensation package, including generous vacation and travel benefits.
While the primary focus of this role is Executive Health, there are opportunities— based on candidate interest, expertise, and program needs — to contribute a portion of clinical effort to our adjacent consultative destination-medicine practices. These may include diagnostic evaluations for international and domestic patients with serious or complex disease, such as our undiagnosed mass and early cancer detection clinics, as well as upcoming clinical opportunities in geroscience and longevity medicine.
This position offers the opportunity to work within the Mayo model of care, with strong interdisciplinary support and dedicated administrative and nursing staff. The practice environment is designed to foster comprehensive, unhurried patient care and innovation in clinical delivery.
Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in Mayo Clinic's academic mission through the "three shields" of clinical practice, education, and research. This position includes an academic appointment in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, with teaching opportunities including medical student and resident education at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, and potential opportunities in fellowship education as well.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a physician who combines outstanding clinical judgment with excellent communication skills, professional maturity, and a collaborative approach to care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable serving a consultative, non-primary care patient population and interested in helping grow a distinctive clinical and academic program. Prior leadership experience, a systems-thinking mindset, intellectual curiosity across emerging areas of personalized and preventive care, and a passion for shaping the future of executive health through innovation, education, and research are highly valued.
Qualifications
- MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent medical degree.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine.
- Eligibility for or ability to obtain an unrestricted Arizona medical license.
Outstanding communication skills and the professional maturity to provide a high-touch, episodic experience for a non-primary care patient population.
Interest in research and scholarly activity as well as teaching opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or strong interest in Executive Health, preventive medicine, or consultative internal medicine, including complex diagnostic or destination-medicine care.
Experience in healthcare innovation, including artificial intelligence, digital health, precision medicine, or longevity medicine.
Additional training such as a Chief Residency, General Internal Medicine fellowship, or Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience in leadership, program development, education, and scholarly activity.
