Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic Health System Gastroenterology includes locations from across Southern Minnesota, Southwest and Northwest Wisconsin serving approximately 600,000 unique patients annually. 

Our Southeastern Minnesota (SEMN) region, primarily in our Austin location with additional opportunity in Red Wing location, has as an exciting opportunity for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist, to join our multi-specialty practice focusing on quality, outcomes, and compassion. Mayo Clinic Health System Gastroenterology has a strong integration with the Division of Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic-Rochester, MN.

Austin MN Opportunity – The selected candidate would join a new Gastroenterology team with a primary location of Austin MN.  Austin will be a new location for our Mayo Clinic Health System practice as we look to provide Gastroenterology specialty care in Austin and surrounding communities. The Austin Gastroenterology practice plans to grow to 2 Gastroenterologists with growth to include 2 Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistants to meet the community demand for Gastroenterology specialty care. The Mayo Clinic Health System – Austin location currently has a full compliment of primary care, medical speciality, and surgical care. 

Red Wing MN Opportunity - This position is located in Red Wing MN. The selected candidate would join an established group of up to 2 Gastroenterologists and 2 Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants providing gastroenterology services in a physician-led, stable organization, committed to high quality patient care and satisfaction.

Based in the diverse patient needs, General Gastroenterology care will be required although practice is open to additional areas of interest. Areas of sub-specialty interest include motility, hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, and pancreas.

The practice includes a strong surgical, cancer, and radiology specialties who work collaboratively within the region and across Mayo Clinic to support the needs of our patients. 

Austin and Red Wing are community settings with short commutes and easy access to larger cities such as Rochester, MN, or the Twin Cities. The SEMN regional practice provides more than 600,000 outpatient visits with 5,000 hospital admissions from southern Minnesota.

In addition, our facilities hold 5-star rankings for overall hospital quality and numerous other Patient Safety Excellence award.

Our Practice Features:

  • Gastroenterology Endoscopy and Clinic practice and hospital consultative service with well-established hospitalist program.
  • Clinic, endoscopy suite, and hospital all located in one location, as well as, Radiology including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine with interventional radiology services and Infusion center on-site.
  • Integrated EMR and imaging system across all locations allowing seamless coordination of care across specialties and GI locations.
  • Dedicated physician workstation in procedure locations, linked to integration system. 
  • Collegial relationships and collaborations with gastroenterologists at Mayo Clinic across our practices in Rochester, Western Wisconsin, and Southern Minnesota.

Qualifications

Candidates must be board-certified/board-eligible in Gastroenterology and be eligible for a Minnesota state license. Visa sponsorship may be considered for this role.

Compensation Detail

The minimum starting salary for medical specialties may range from $194,250 to $616,000. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
