The outpatient population served includes patients with challenging and complex infectious disease issues, pre-travel counseling, HIV related care (mentorship provided) and virtual visits to critical access hospitals in the region. In collaboration with an embedded ID Pharmacist and ID RNs, the NP/PA will follow patients discharged on antimicrobial therapy as well as coordinating post-hospital care. The inpatient population serviced includes partnering with ID Physicians and inpatient Pharmacists to support referrals for patients with challenging and complex infectious diseases both within the hospital as well as in partnership with our advanced care at home (hospital at home) team.

Internal teaching opportunities exist for rotating NP/PA students, medical students, and onsite Eau Claire Family Medicine residents.
