Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Radiology team in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The Radiology department in Northwest Wisconsin currently consists of 18 Radiologists, 1 Nurse Practitioner and 2 Physician Assistants.  To assist the practice, the department would like to add an additional NP/PA for image guided procedures. 

Provides comprehensive direct and indirect patient care in procedural, inpatient and outpatient settings across the continuum of care as relates to Radiology.  Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes pharmacological agents and non-pharmacologic treatments and therapies, promotes wellness and prevention, performs teaching and counseling.  Quickly, accurately, and effectively modifies therapeutic interventions to promote optimal health status in response to changes in patient condition.  Develops resources and communicates knowledge to members of healthcare team, patients, and their family members. Utilizes ACR standards as foundations for care provided.

The Radiology NP/PA will work in collaboration with a group of 18 radiologists and one Physician Assistant to provide care to a diverse population. This position will also collaborate with one Physician Assistant and one Nurse Practitioner who provide care in Interventional Radiology.  The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will see patients in Diagnostic Radiology performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with fluoroscopy and/or ultrasound guidance.  

The Radiology NP/PA will provide support to the Radiology practice by:

  • Performing and assisting with image guided procedures including joint injections, lumbar punctures, barium GI studies, and contrast enhanced GU studies in patients of all ages.
  • Performing image guided exams and procedures at critical access hospital sites 1-2 days a week as needed to maintain access and meet demand.
  • Assisting technologists on triaging inpatient diagnostic radiology exams.
  • Engaging in fluoroscopy CME
  • Working closely with our fluoroscopy physician and technologist leads on quality metrics.
  • Coordinating care for patients receiving Theranostic treatment.


Qualifications

2 years' experience preferred.  New graduates may be considered.

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current WI RN and APRN license and certification as an APNP. ARLS certification (required within 1 year of hire). 

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the WI State Board of Medical Practice.

BLS certification and DEA registration required.
