Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic is searching for an innovative leader to serve as the Chair of its Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at our academic medical center in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Department Chair is a leadership position and the individual selected will be accountable for driving innovation through cutting edge procedures, capitalizing on technology, advancing progressive research, and educating the next generation of physicians. They will be responsible for achieving exceptional patient outcomes, financial and growth objectives in addition to actively recruiting and retaining top talent to advance Mayo’s mission.
The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine provides adult, comprehensive management of anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures as well as pre- and post-operative care of these patients. The department is comprised of over 50 board-certified anesthesiologists split into 5 anesthesiology divisions: Cardiothoracic; Multispecialty; Neuroanesthesiology; Solid Organ Transplant; and Acute Pain/Regional Anesthesiology. We have six anesthesiology residents per year, over 90 CRNAs, and a team of anesthesia technologists who are committed to providing the highest level of clinical care. We strongly advocate for the anesthesiology care team model in our practice.
