Responsibilities
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking a Co-Director of the Molecular Pathology Laboratory to work in a large academic group practice setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in chromosome analysis, FISH testing, PCR for the evaluation of oncologic diseases, and molecular genetic testing, including next-generation sequencing. The candidate will also have experience in development & validation of LDTs, implementing and monitoring QA & QC, and interpretation of laboratory results in a clinical (hospital/ in-patient and clinics/ outpatient) setting. The candidate is also expected to share responsibilities in lab management and to participate in research and departmental educational programs. Preferences will be given to candidates who have at least two or more years’ experience post-ABMGG fellowship, and those who have worked as an acting laboratory director in high-complexity clinical molecular laboratory.

Our clinical pathology laboratory offers a robust and rapidly growing test menu. The selected candidate will join a group of 35 pathology consultants. All Surgical and Clinical pathologists have subspecialty expertise and participate in scholarly activities through research and education. The practice offers a stimulating environment for professional growth and career development. The new faculty member will work closely with our large multi-disciplinary team of physicians from surgical oncology, medical oncology, neurosurgeons, transplant team, and researchers to develop targeted molecular panels and testing for different diseases including but not limited to neuro-oncology, lymphoma and leukemia diagnostics and HLT-transplant. The position includes an academic appointment with the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have an MD/DO and/or PhD and must be ABMGG board-certified in Molecular Genetics and Genomics (LGG) or Molecular Genetics Pathology.
