Responsibilities
Performs a wide variety of general maintenance tasks to assemble, maintain, repair, and install non-medical equipment and furniture systems. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the relocation and storage of freestanding furniture including desks, file cabinets, chairs, tables, ergonomic equipment, etc. Responsible for tracking the location of and maintaining the appropriate inventory of furniture and repair materials.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Perform all duties following safe work practices.
• Transport, stage, unpack, assemble, and install furniture and ergonomic equipment as directed by Supervisor and the Design team
• Evaluate damage to non-medical equipment, furniture, and furniture systems and select appropriate methods of repair and/or restoration to minimize the time the piece is out of circulation.
• Coordinate and perform the pickup/removal/delivery of furniture and equipment items for stock management
• Perform ongoing evaluation of furniture condition and make recommendations for replacement
• Install wall mounted items such as pictures, shelving, signage, maps, monitors, bulletin and marker boards, etc.
• Maintain the appropriate and necessary inventory of repairs parts, materials, and equipment.
• Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive, track, and complete work tasks
• Drive Mayo Clinic vehicle
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) required.
Experience: 1 year experience in furniture repair, basic carpentry, and/or refinish work is preferred.
Previous experience with systems furniture installation/modification is preferred (example – Steelcase, Herman Miller, etc)
Proficient use of all hand/power tools required for furniture assembly, installation, or repair.
Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and users on furniture components and layouts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
Valid Driver’s License is required.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $18.59 - $25.29 / hour
