Responsibilities
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a full-time specialist in ComplexMinimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) in the Division of Gynecology.
We are seeking to hire an academic surgical gynecologist who possesses strong interest in research and clinical expertise in the following focus areas:
- Endometriosis
- Uterine Fibroids
- Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
- Pelvic Pain
- Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
No obstetrical coverage will be required for this position.
Candidates must possess the following attributes:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of 6 board-certified, sub-specialty trained physicians providing care to a rich patient mix involving regional, national, and international patients. The department has an AAGL accredited fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and has graduated 10 physician-surgeons since 2013. The department offers also training rotations to resident physicians in OB-GYN and urology and core rotation in gynecology to students from Mayo Medical School and other sites from both the United States and abroad.
The Division of Gynecology serves the needs of a diverse and challenging referral practice. Care is provided through a network of procedural and disease-based focus groups in collaboration with advanced practice providers. Both the Endometriosis and Fibroid treatment groups function as multi-disciplinary teams, including diagnostic and interventional radiologists, gynecologists, fertility specialists, gynecologic oncologists and colorectal surgeons and physical therapist, and pain management physicians. Research endeavors are well supported by strong departmental and institutional resources, including a Center for Clinical and Translational Science Activities as well as the Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery.
Qualifications
Candidates must be board-certified OB/GYN physician and have completed a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship, or similar advanced training. Prior experience in an academic setting is preferred, along with clinical experience in management of serious and complex gynecologic disorders including both medical and advanced surgical aspects of endometriosis and uterine fibroid care. The successful candidate should expect to progress in academic rank through an appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine with opportunities to secure teaching and examining privileges. Candidates will have dedicated time to participate in leadership roles according to interests in practice, research and education.
